Omaha Poker RulesThe objective of Omaha Poker is to form your best poker hand, which determines the odds of your further success in the game. You have two cards from your hand, those that you have just been dealt, and in you can use three more cards from the board. Omaha is a nine-card game. There can be a maximum of ten players. Each player is dealt four cards face down and then the first round of betting begins. The options are to bet, check, to raise, or to fold. Betting takes place after each round of play. Rounds are the same as Texas Hold’em. Preflop two cards are dealt to every player face down, starting with the small blind. The Flop the dealer lays out the first three community cards in the center of the table. The Turn a fourth card is dealt face up in the middle of the table. The River a fifth and final card is dealt face up in the middle of the table. When it comes to a showdown, after the final round of betting, players must reveal their cards face up. In order to qualify for the low hand, and receive your part of the pot, a player is required to have five cards of eight or lower. The hand is split between the high hand and the qualifying low hand. If there is no low hand, then the winner of the high hand gets the entire pot. |
